Week 19: Sipping Karupatti Coffee One Sunday at a Time

May 23, 2024 . 2 minutes read

My wife Soundarya and I are both big coffee lovers. Funny enough, during my childhood, I was a die-hard tea fan. I even used to rage against coffee lovers, calling it overrated. But here I am now—totally converted. These days, my mornings feel incomplete without a good cup of coffee.

That said, we're not fans of instant coffee. In fact, we avoid it as much as possible. We prefer good old-fashioned filter coffee, and one of our favorite spots to get it is Aaladipattiyan Karupatti Coffee. Over the past three Sundays, we've made it a point to visit this little shop in the evenings—and we've been loving the experience.

I've read stories of people who’ve been visiting places like Woodlands Hotel for years—just for a cup of tea, coffee, or snacks. I always used to wonder: how do they never get bored of it? But now I get it. The secret is simple: do it often, but not too frequently. That balance turns it into a ritual—something you look forward to, something you build memories around.

So now, every Sunday evening, we’ve made it a family ritual to head over to Aaladipattiyan Karupatti Coffee with our kids, unwind, and soak in the simple joy of great coffee and good company.
